The Poland football national team announced on Twitter that Fernando Santos will be the new coach.
The former Portuguese manager will lead Poland at least until the end of the Euro 2024 qualification period, starting on March 24th for the first time.
Santos spent some words regarding his new team right after the signing.
“Poland is a national team with very good players, one of the world’s best. “From today I am Polish. I am one of you. We will do everything to provide Poles with a lot of joy.” “For me, it is very important to do in Poland what I have done in the past – I want to leave a legacy here, something for the future.”
PZPN president Cezary Kulesza explained the decision of signing Santos as the new coach for Poland.
“We took into account experience, successes, charisma, and working with a group because it is not an easy job. We also wanted a successful coach. “I believe that [Fernando Santos] will bring a lot of good, not only to our national team but to the entirety of Polish football.”
