Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is “quite convinced” that they can be in contention to win titles with him on the team.
Despite a difficult start to the season, Manchester United found momentum recently. The Red Devils are currently 4th in the Premier League standings and, having played one game less, are equal on points with Newcastle. Furthermore, they have not lost in the championship since November 6, 2022.
Man United’s recent results fueled talks that they could emerge as a title contender.
Ten Hag stated that a team needs to be successful in numerous aspects in order to fight for trophies.
“I think the Premier League at the moment develops to have six, seven teams who all finally can win the league, because of so many investments,” he said.
“When you have the right philosophy, the right strategy, many more clubs can compete for the top positions in the league. If you want to be there, you have to be really good, you need that consistency, that good strategy, the consistency in the strategy, and you need hard work. To win trophies everything has to go in the right way.”
When asked whether he thinks he can lead Man United to success, ten Hag replied: “Yes, I am quite convinced of that process. We are going in the right direction. But we have to improve a lot if you want to compete in the future for the top positions because the competition will be really tough.”
