Torino beat Fiorentina 1-0 in the Serie A matchday 19 game to improve its position in the standings.

Fiorentina and Torino faced each other at Stadio Artemio Franchi in the final Saturday Serie A match. The teams were equal on points before the match began, so winning the match was very important for both squads.

Demba Seck went one-on-one with Pietro Terracciano and sent the ball into the net. However, the Torino striker’s goal was disallowed because he had been offside.

Jonathan Ikone managed to charge through to Torino’s penalty box. He made a shot, but it was blocked by the opponents.

Seck had another opportunity to score, but the ball hit the crossbar after his shot.

Torino’s Wilfried Singo made a shot from outside Fiorentina’s penalty area in the 25th minute. Terraciano deflected the ball in front of him. Nikola Vlasic was the first to pick up the ball, but he did not manage to make a proper shot.

Fiorentina responded shortly after. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved Christian Kouame’s strike.

Torino took the lead in the 33rd minute of the match after Aleksei Miranchuk’s shot. Mergim Vojvoda made an assist. The first half ended with a 1-0 score.

The second half had a calm start as the teams had not made a single shot until the 54th minute. Moments later, Fiorentina had a corner kick which could have brought them a goal.

The ball was flying toward Nicolas Gonzales after Ikone’s header in front of Milinkovic-Savic’s goal. However, the Argentinian player did not manage to get to the ball.

Several seconds after coming to the pitch, Antonio Sanabria had a chance to double Torino’s advantage. However, he did not make a shot.

Fiorentina had a big chance to tie the game in the 90th minute. Kouame went one-on-one with Milinkovic-Savic, but the Torino goalkeeper took the ball out. Luka Jovic picked it up and had an opportunity to score as only one Torino player stood in front of the net. However, David Zima made a successful tackle on him.

In the end, Torino won the match 1-0 and moved up to 7th place in the Serie A standings.
