Verona took the lead within the first 10 minutes of the match. Darko Lazović scored a goal after a pass from Yayah Kalon inside Cremonese’s penalty box.
Milan Đurić could have doubled Verona’s advantage with a header in the middle of the first half, but Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Cremonese captain Matteo Bianchetti fell on the ground with a gash on his face after Kalon hit him in the face. The Verona player was booked for the foul.
Lazović scored his second goal of the match in the 26th minute after Josh Doig’s pass.
Cremonese made five shots in the first half, and none of them was successful, which meant that the teams entered the halftime with the 2-0 score.
Cremonese made another nine shots in the second half, including four on target, in an attempt to be come back into the game. However, the score did not change which meant that Verona took an important victory. Meanwhile, Cremonese is still looking for its first win of the season.
