McLaren boss Zak Brown sees the promotion of Andrea Stella as an opportunity for the team, which he believes will benefit from him.
After the departure of former team principal Andreas Seidl, Brown said that McLaren now has new opportunities for the future.
“[McLaren] is a big team with tremendous talent,” Brown told the media.
“But I have no doubt Andrea will pick up and carry us forward. We need to add some resources within particular areas of the racing team, but I think we’ve got a strong race team.
Brown also underlined how important it is for the team to promote Stella to team principal instead of welcoming someone new from the outside.
“This feels like we won’t miss a beat versus introducing someone from the outside because it takes quite a while to get up to speed.
“If we didn’t have Andrea, then maybe that would have been an alternative to look at, but it was very clear to all of us very quickly that Andrea was who we want to run the team.”
