The one between Arsenal and Newcastle was not an action-packed game. Both teams had a few occasions, but none of them could score. The Gunners remain on top of the standings, while Newcastle is now tied on points with Manchester United in third place.
3′: Arsenal proved to be dangerous right from the start with Martin Ødegaard. His shot went just high over the crossbar.
5′: Arsenal was close to scoring once again, this time with Bukayo Saka. His run on the right wing allowed him to shoot from a difficult position. A Newcastle defender though saved the shot.
34′: Gabriel managed to jump higher than everyone else, reaching a great ball by Ødegaard. However, his attempt went wide on the right.
47′: Joelinton threw away the biggest occasion of the game right before the end of the first half. He was basically on the goal line, but his header did not enter and went out.
79′: Arsenal came close to scoring the first goal of the game with Martinelli. The Brazilian anticipated everybody with a header after a corner kick, but the ball went wide.
87′: Arsenal had a great occasion to get the lead right at the end of the match. Nketiah shot from inside the box, but Newcastle’s goalkeeper kept the result tied with an absolute miracle.
95′: Arsenal claimed a penalty right at the last minute for a touch with the hand in the box by a Newcastle player. The referee said it was regular and did not concede the penalty.
