Toto Wolff spent some words on the future Mercedes challenger for next season. The Austrian confirms that the car will feature many innovations, even though they will not be visible.
The 2023 Formula 1 season has not started yet, but there are already some rumors about the cars that each team is developing for the upcoming season.
Wolff said that even though the new Mercedes car will look like its predecessor, many things will be different with the aim to gain even more lap time.
“It’s full of surprises. The last time that I saw it, I thought it was the same as last year, but I hope it’s not like that.”
Wolff then added that the biggest differences will be in the lower part of the car.
“It’s all about the airflow, the weight distribution, the aerodynamic map.
“I think we have a better understanding of what the problems were. We’ve been peeling layers that were uncovering more and more issues, but I think we’ve gotten to the point where we have a pretty good understanding of why the car wasn’t working well.
“If we can fix those problems during the winter, then we can give both drivers a good starting point to develop the car even more.”
