Man City takes confident win against Leeds

Elland Road in Leeds hosted the only Premier League match of Wednesday between Leeds United and Man City.

Manchester City had a lot of opportunities to score and did it three times thanks to Rodri and Erling Haaland. Nevertheless, Leeds responded with Pascal Struijk’s header.

1′: Erling Haaland went one-on-one against Illan Meslier. However, the shot was deflected by the Leeds goalkeeper.

4′: Haaland got the ball after Riyad Mahrez’s cross but did not manage to kick the ball properly.

7′: Kevin De Bruyne made a shot right outside the Leeds’ penalty area, but it was off target.

15′: De Bruyne made a cross into Leeds’ penalty area to Ilkay Gundogan. The German did not manage to complete it.

20′: Gundogan got the ball during the free kick and sent the ball through the ground. It went close to the left post.

21′: Jack Grealish was on the ground after a hard tackle from Pascal Struijk. The left winger kept playing after assistance from doctors.

30′: Meslier took the ball after De Bruyne’s corner kick cross.

31′: Haaland got another one-on-one opportunity against Meslier. The Frenchman got the upper hand again.

32′: Grealish sent the ball high right in front of the goalkeeper’s area.

35′: Gundogan’s shot inside Leeds’ penalty area was saved by Meslier.

40′: Grealish received the ball from De Bruyne during a free kick and made a shot that was way off target.

43′: Mahrez got the ball right in front of Meslier’s net but did not make a proper shot.

45′: Grealish had another chance to score after Rico Lewis’ pass, but the shot was above the net.

45+1′ ⚽: Manchester City finally scored at the end of the first half. Rodri picked up the ball after Meslier had saved Mahrez’s shot and scored.

48′: Grealish was on the ground again as a result of a tackle from Rasmus Kristensen.

50′: Mahrez fouled on Wilfried Gnonto. The Manchester City player was not booked.

51′ ⚽: Grealish intercepted the ball after Liam Cooper’s mistake and passed the ball to Haaland. The Manchester City striker scored the goal into the empty net.

55′: Brenden Aaronson made a shot from outside Man City’s box, but it did not pose any threat to Ederson.

62′: Lewis was the first player to have received the first yellow card in the match after having fouled on Gnonto.

64′ ⚽: Haaland scored his second goal of the evening after having made a one-two with Grealish.

70′: Mateusz Klich was booked after a foul on Grealish.

71′: Gnonto was also given a yellow card by referee Stuart Atwell for having begun an argument with Grealish.

73′ ⚽: Leeds scored one goal back. Struijk successfully completed Sam Greenwood’s corner kick cross.

77′: Haaland tried to score a hat trick, but the attempt was not successful.

81′: Rodri was booked after having committed a foul on Gnonto in front of Man City’s penalty box.

82′: Greenwood’s free kick went over the players’ wall, but over the goal as well.

85′: Greenwood was given a yellow card because of his foul on De Bruyne.

88′: John Stones got the ball in Leeds’ penalty box but sent the ball above the net.

90+2′: Man City players made several shots, but they were blocked by their opponents.

90+2′: Cole Palmer was booked after his foul on Darko Gyabi.
