Daniel Ricciardo believes that he will return to the Formula 1 paddock at next year’s Australian Grand Prix.
Ricciardo will not be on the F1 grid in 2023 after having left McLaren one year before the end of the contract. After the Abu Dhabi GP, it was announced that the Australian had joined his old team Red Bull as the third driver.
Ricciardo is unlikely to appear in the paddock at each race weekend in the 2023 season. He thinks that his first appearance next year will take place at his home Grand Prix in Australia.
“I would likely say Melbourne would probably be my first one,” the 8-time Grand Prix winner said on the Beyond the Grid podcast.
“I’ve got to check the calendar, but I’m pretty sure Melbourne would make sense, and any excuse to get back to Aus!”
