Felipe Drugovich stated that a quick transition from Formula 1 to Formula 2 machinery was “too much” for him.

Drugovich made his debut FP1 appearance in Abu Dhabi on Friday. He drove Aston Martin’s AMR22 car. The Brazilian completed 23 laps and finished the session in 20th place.

Half an hour after the end of FP1, Drugovich competed in the Formula 2 qualifying. He was the fourth-quickest.

Drugovich admitted that he did not enjoy such a quick switch between the cars.

“Everything was in a rush today [on Friday]. It was even a little bit too much, I would say from FP1 to quali,” the 2022 Formula 2 champion said.

“They put it like that and it wasn’t nice. I think at least a few hours would be good just to disconnect from one and connect to the other.

“We basically just jumped out from our car and changed the suit and then jump straight into F2. On the first push lap in F2, I think it was a bit weird, I would say, but after that, it was fine again.”
