Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff revealed that George Russell’s car suffered a water leak during the Sao Paulo GP.
Russell won Sunday’s race at Interlagos after having started from P1. However, according to Wolff, the Briton might not have finished the race. The reason for that was a water leak in Russell’s W13 car.
“We had a water leak on the car throughout the race, and it wasn’t clear whether we could actually make it to the end,” Wolff said.
“We talked about it on the intercom, and we all agreed that we were going to let him [Russell] drive to the end, even without water, and just try to finish the race.”
