McLaren team principal Andreas Seidl believes that Lando Norris will be fit to participate in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris missed Thursday’s track activities at Interlagos after having suffered food poisoning. The Briton returned to the paddock the following day and took part in all sessions so far this weekend.
Norris finished the Sprint in 7th place but admitted that the race was “tough” for him as he was feeling unwell.
Nevertheless, Seidl thinks that Norris will recover from the illness.
“I’m confident, after a good rest again overnight, that he will be fine tomorrow [on Sunday],” he commented.
“I think, if you look back at what he pulled off and how he was tackling the race today [on Saturday], how he was managing also the tires to make sure he was there when he needed to be to make the move on Kevin [Magnussen], which was the goal for today, it didn’t seem that there was anything missing.”
