George Russell stated that the Sao Paulo Grand Prix victory brought him an “amazing feeling”.
Russell won his maiden Grand Prix race at Interlagos on Sunday. The Briton began the race from the pole position and was out of reach for his opponents.
After the race, Russell admitted that the race was not an easy walk for him.
“An amazing feeling. Huge thank you to the team for making it possible. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster this season. This race was really tough. I felt in control but Lewis was super fast. Then I saw the Safety Car and thought, this would be really difficult. He put me under so much pressure,” he said.
He added: “I am speechless. On the in lap, all the memories come flooding back. Starting off with my mum and dad in karting, all the support from my family.”
