Lando Norris supports Max Verstappen’s comments regarding Sprint races but does not oppose having them at certain venues.
Verstappen revealed earlier that he does not like the Sprint race concept because of the cautious approach the drivers have to take.
Norris shared his thoughts about it and admitted that he prefers the traditional race weekend format.
“Growing up, always having qualifying and then a race – that’s always what I’ve known Formula 1 to be so, in a way, I’m with Max on that,” he said.
“I love the build-up [and] the pressure of having qualifying and one race, [with] nothing coming in-between.”
At the same time, the McLaren driver is not against having Sprint races at suitable tracks.
“At the correct tracks, I also don’t mind it.
“So when it was in Austria or Monza, tracks you can actually race [at]. Interlagos, reasonably, the easiest track to race on I would say, for most people.”
