2022 Formula 3 runner-up Zane Maloney will participate in the Formula 2 season finale in Abu Dhabi with Trident.
Maloney finished 2nd in F3 this year. The 19-year-old had 3 race wins, 2 pole positions, and 4 podium finishes.
On Monday, Trident announced that Maloney will replace Calan Williams at the Yas Marina Circuit next weekend.
“We are very proud to be able to compete with Zane Maloney in the final event in the FIA Formula 2 Championship,” team manager Giacomo Ricci said.
“Zane, the Barbadian driver, terminated the Formula 3 Championship with three consecutive Feature Race victories and has proven to be second to no one in terms of competitiveness, almost winning the drivers’ title.
“We are therefore pleased to have Zane on board, once again this year, and we are confident that Trident will be able to provide him with the maximum support and dedication for the challenging Yas Marina Circuit.”
“I’m really looking forward to Abu Dhabi. It’s an opportunity to learn a lot before the end of the season and prepare me for what my future holds,” Maloney added.
“Trident and I had a great year, so to do another race with them and Giacomo is a pleasure. Really looking forward to next weekend, and it’s an amazing opportunity to keep improving myself on track.”
