Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff admitted that the “DNA” of their challenger will be changed in the 2023 F1 season.
After eight Constructors’ and seven Drivers’ titles in the previous eight seasons, Mercedes have had a difficult 2022.
The Silver Arrows have had to deal with porpoising and performance swings of the W13 car throughout the season. As a result, Mercedes are currently 3rd in the standings with 416 points scored. Furthermore, they are yet to win a race in 2022.
Wolff revealed that the “DNA” of the next year’s car will be different.
“The DNA of the car is going to change for next year, that’s clear,” he said.
“It doesn’t necessarily mean that our bodywork is going to look very different. But certainly what is part of the DNA of the car, the architecture of the car, will change for next year.”
