Esteban Ocon will start the United States Grand Prix from the pit lane after having received fresh PU components under parc ferme conditions.
Ocon ended Saturday’s qualifying at the Circuit of The Americas in 18th place. It was revealed several hours before lights out that the Frenchman got a fresh internal combustion engine, energy store, control electronics, and exhaust system.
The changes were made under parc ferme conditions and without the approval of the FIA technical delegate. As a result, Ocon will start the race from the pit lane.
Furthermore, Yuki Tsunoda received a 5-place grid penalty after having received new gearbox elements. The AlphaTauri driver will start the race from P18.
