Lewis Hamilton said Mercedes has closed the gap to the front of the field after finishing P2 at the United States Grand Prix.
The 7-time World Champion gave a great battle to Max Verstappen as he tried to achieve victory at the Circuit of The Americas, and, while it wasn’t enough, Hamilton finished in second place, showing the good progress of Mercedes, which brought different updates this weekend.
“A big shoutout to my team, we came with updates, and we closed the gap a little bit,” Hamilton said.
“I did everything I could to stay ahead, but they were just a little too quick today. [We had] great strategy.
“The car was a handful, it felt amazing to be in the lead. We’ve been working so hard on that, I felt so much hope.
“We will keep pushing. It will come to us at some stage,” he continued.
