Charles Leclerc has topped the final Friday practice session of the United States Grand Prix, which included a test of the experimental Pirelli tires for 2023.
The second practice session at Circuit of The Americas was an hour and a half long to allow for testing of the 2023 Pirelli prototype tires.
Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton reported issues with his Drag Reduction System, which was continuously opening and shutting down the straights. The 7-time World Champion then pitted for his team to take a deeper look into the matter.
Max Verstappen on the other hand complained to Red Bull about his setup, saying he had no front end, and while his flying lap placed him in a comfortable second place, the Dutch driver struggled through his entire lap to achieve it.
Most of the drivers fitted the experimental Pirelli compound throughout the session.
The session continued without much issues, and it was Charles Leclerc who topped the standings with the medium compound and a time of 1:36.810s.
