Zane Maloney has won the Formula 3 Feature Race at Zandvoort, while Victor Martins takes over the championship lead ahead of the season finale at Monza.
Victor Martins was alongside Zane Maloney through turn 1. The Trident driver went off the track and let his opponent pass. Jak Crawford had an opportunity to move up to 2nd place but stayed in P3.
Brad Benavides and William Alatalo had a collision at the exit of turn 1 and stopped in the gravel. Both drivers retired from the race and the Safety Car was deployed.
The race was restarted on lap 8 of 26. Crawford had a lock-up at turn 1. The PREMA Racing driver dropped down to 9th place. Franco Colapinto inherited P3.
Maloney remained right behind Martins and overtook him on lap 12 to take the race lead back.
The Virtual Safety Car was deployed after David Vidales stopped at turn 2. Shortly after, the Safety Car came back to the race track because a part of Gregoire Saucy’s nose cone was on the race track.
Maloney kept the lead at the restart. Meanwhile, Rafael Villagomez got beached in the gravel following a collision with Juan Manuel Correa. The Safety Car was on the track for the third time.
The racing action was resumed with two laps to go. Maloney was out of reach for his opponents and won the race. Martins crossed the finish line in P2 and returned the championship lead. Colapinto completed the podium.
