Pierre Gasly thinks that AlphaTauri may struggle to get to Q2 during the Dutch Grand Prix qualifying.
Gasly ended Friday’s practice session at Zandvoort 14th and 16th. The Frenchman revealed that his FP2 program was affected by issues with the new car parts.
“There is nothing to take from the session because we had planned to run a certain set-up, and the parts didn’t fit properly [on] the suspension position,” Gasly said.
“There wasn’t any reliability issues, but clearly what was put on [the car] wasn’t what we intended and we’ll have to review and put the car back together for tomorrow [Saturday].”
Gasly added that qualifying might be difficult for the Faenza-based outfit.
“We’ll try to make it to Q2, but so far, it’s been quite challenging.
“I’m sure we’ll find some solution. But [at] the moment we have too many issues which we didn’t have before.”
