Caio Collet has won the opening race of the Formula 3 race weekend at Zandvoort.
Juan Manuel Correa remained in front at the race start. Meanwhile, his teammate Gregoire Saucy dropped down to P5. Caio Collet and Zak O’Sullivan were following Correa in the top 3.
Collet tried to overtake Correa for the lead on lap 4. However, the MP Motorsport driver had to go through a curb and lost momentum. A lap later, Collet got ahead at turn 3.
Rafael Villagomez and Brad Benavides collided at turn 1. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver had to make a pit stop and was given a 10-second time penalty for causing the collision.
Correa managed to stay within 2 seconds behind Collet which allowed him to stay in contention for the race win.
Oliver Bearman, who was 10th, went off the track at turn 4 and dropped down to P11. He was under pressure from the opponents but managed to hold them off.
Correa was unable to catch Collet which meant that the Brazilian won the race. O’Sullivan completed the podium.
