Max Verstappen thinks that the battle between Red Bull Racing and Ferrari will be closer at Zandvoort compared to Spa.
Red Bull had a significant advantage in performance over Ferrari at the Belgian GP. Verstappen was six-tenths quicker than Carlos Sainz in qualifying. Though the Dutchman began the race from P14, he won it, having been almost 18 seconds ahead of Sergio Perez.
Verstappen believes that the characteristics of Zandvoort will make the battle between the frontrunners closer.
“I think it will be closer together here. Spa was great for us and better than expected. It was just the car in combination with the track layout because it suited our car very well,” he said.
“Here in Zandvoort you use a lot of downforce, the layout is completely different and there are fewer straights.
“If we can get our set-up in order, the car will be very fast again. It’s just a question mark how fast we will be compared to the rest.”
