Gasly denies talking about Alpine deal in Ferrari video

Pierre Gasly denied that he was talking about finalizing a deal with Alpine in a Ferrari video.

Gasly is currently considered one of the contenders for the vacant 2023 Alpine seat. In a video released by Ferrari recently, Gasly was heard saying the phrase: “I’m still working on the final details of the contract.”

The clip fueled the rumors regarding the Frenchman’s possible switch to Alpine. However, Gasly himself denied that he was talking about a deal with Alpine.

“If you guys would have any idea of the subject we were talking about, you’ll probably laugh,” he said.

“I can guarantee you, it was nothing related to Formula 1.”

Gasly added: “I said it last week, for next year currently, I’m contracted for AlphaTauri.

“Everybody is aware of my contract situation. For now, nothing has changed.”

When asked whether Red Bull talked with him regarding the comments, Gasly replied: “I don’t feel like commenting anything for the moment.

“I’m with AlphaTauri, I’m giving my best to AlphaTauri as long as I’ll be driving for this team. They gave me my first seat in Formula 1, they gave me my first victory.

“For now, I don’t feel like commenting anything. As long as I’m driving for this team, I’ll always give my 110%.”
