Max Verstappen stated the Belgian Grand Prix was “a weekend I couldn’t imagine before”.
Verstappen started the race from P14 due to a grid penalty. The Dutchman charged through the field in the early stages and won the race, almost 18 seconds ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez who finished 2nd.
“It was quite a hectic first lap to try and stay out of trouble. So many things were happening,” Verstappen reflected.
“Once we settled in after the SC the car was really on rails. Picked the right places to overtake people and then managed the tires. This weekend was incredible.
“It’s a weekend I couldn’t imagine before, but I think we want more of them and keep working hard.”
