Esteban Ocon revealed that he would like to team up with Mick Schumacher at Alpine.

One of the seats at Alpine for the 2023 season is still vacant and it is unclear who will become Ocon’s teammate. The Contract Recognition Board is set to have a hearing on Monday to make a decision on the dispute between Alpine and McLaren regarding Oscar Piastri.

If the CRB’s decision is not in Alpine’s favor, they will have to look for a driver elsewhere. According to Motorsport.com, Pierre Gasly is one of the candidates to join Alpine.

Ocon himself commented on the situation and indicated that he would like Schumacher to be his teammate.

“I don’t know what the team will decide. I have no words really to comment on that,” he said.

“I said to the bosses that my preference would be Mick Schumacher. Because if he doesn’t find a solution, I’m very happy to team up with him, he’s a good friend of mine.

“But again, I have no words in what the decision will be, this is only my opinion. So I thought it was quite nice just to tell what I would like but that’s not going to be a factor.

“I have no idea about the situation, but since there is no contract being signed anywhere, I would say if we try and get Mick that would be nice.”
