Liam Lawson won the Formula 2 Sprint Race at Spa-Francorchamps after going through the grass at the start.
Jehan Daruvala was set to start 2nd. However, he did not manage to get to the grid and did not take part in the race.
Ralph Boschung remained in the race lead at the start. Liam Lawson went through the grass but took P2. Richard Verschoor moved up to 3rd place.
Lawson overtook Boschung on lap 2 and took over the lead. Nevertheless, the Campos Racing driver was right behind. Lawson reported issues with rear tires on lap 5.
Jack Doohan got ahead of Verschoor in the battle for P3. Meanwhile, Lawson was almost a second and a half ahead of Boschung.
Logan Sargeant spun at Pouhon and hit the barrier. The Safety Car was deployed. Nine drivers, including Felipe Drugovich, went to the pits for fresh Soft tires.
The race was restarted with 4 laps to go. There were no changes in the top 3. Drugovich overtook Juri Vips at Les Combes but went off the track and had to give the position back.
Lawson built a comfortable gap from the opponents and won the race. Doohan crossed the finish line in P2 after having overtaken Boschung on the final lap. Drugovich finished right behind Boschung in P4.
