Van Amersfoort Racing confirmed that David Beckmann will replace Jake Hughes in the team starting from the Belgium round.

VAR released a statement on Tuesday that revealed that Beckmann will drive the no.24 car starting this weekend. The reason for the driver change is Hughes’ growing focus on Formula E.

Beckmann participated in four F2 rounds this year. He replaced an injured Cem Bolukbasi at Charouz Racing System in Imola. Furthermore, the German drove for VAR in Britain, France, and Hungary. His best race result in 2022 is 8th place in the Feature Race in Imola.
