Valtteri Bottas urges Alfa Romeo to keep working on improving reliability after his retirement from the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Bottas retired on the final laps of the Hungarian GP due to a fuel system issue. It was the Finn’s third retirement of the season. Both Bottas and his teammate Guanyu Zhou had encountered mechanical issues on numerous occasions throughout the season.
Bottas believes that getting on top of reliability problems will be a “high focus” for the team.
“We had some pace this weekend, a bit more than the previous weekend, so that’s getting there but we need to finish the race,” he said.
“It’s not consistent enough and we know it.
“We need to keep working on that because it would have been an even greater shame if we were aiming to score points again and we had that issue.
“There will be a high focus on that.”
