Lewis Hamilton has officially joined the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group that is about to purchase the Denver Broncos NFL team.
Hamilton tried to become a part-owner of a professional sports team earlier this year. The Mercedes driver joined an investment group that wanted to take over Chelsea Football Club. However, the attempt was not successful.
It was announced on Tuesday that the Briton had joined the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group which is purchasing the Denver Broncos.
“We’re delighted to welcome seven-time Formula 1 world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton to our ownership group. He is a champion competitor who knows what it takes to lead a winning team and a fierce advocate for global equality, including in his own sport,” the statement read.
“With over 100 race wins, Lewis is considered the most successful F1 driver of all time. His resilient spirit and standard of excellence will be an asset to the ownership group and the Broncos organization.”
