Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto believes that they do not need any changes despite issues in recent races.
Ferrari suffered from mechanical problems as well as controversial strategy calls throughout the first half of the season. The latest case took place at the Hungarian GP. The team decided to switch Charles Leclerc to Hard tires. The Monegasque lost pace and was out of contention for the win eventually.
Ferrari are currently 97 points behind Red Bull Racing in the Constructors’ Championship. Nevertheless, Binotto does not think that they need changes.
“It’s not a matter of bad luck, and there is nothing to change as well. It’s always a matter of continuous learning and building, building experience, building skills,” he said.
“Today [Sunday], certainly there is something that you need to look at and understand why. But if I look again at the balance of the first half of the season, there is no reason why we should change.
“I think we simply need to address what was wrong today, we need to understand, and then to address and get back competitive at the 12 races so far [before Hungary] and the reason why it could not be the case at the next one.”
