Max Verstappen has set the fastest lap time of the third free practice session of the French Grand Prix.
Teams and drivers had another hour at the Circuit Paul Ricard on Saturday afternoon to make final preparations for qualifying later in the day.
Mercedes mechanics were seen making set-up changes to both cars at the beginning of the session. After all the work was done, both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were ready to start their programs.
Medium and Soft tires were the optimal choice, though Charles Leclerc began his program on a set of Hard tires.
Leclerc spun at turn 12. The Ferrari driver avoided any car damage, but his tires were likely to be flat-spotted after that.
Yuki Tsunoda encountered traffic during one of his flying laps and he shared his frustration with it through team radio.
Drivers had qualifying simulations in the final minutes of the session. Max Verstappen turned out to be quicker than both Ferrari drivers and topped the standings. Carlos Sainz and Leclerc followed the Dutchman in the top 3.
