Logan Sargeant has qualified in first place at the Formula 2 session in France.
As a reminder, Jake Hughes was replaced by David Beckmann at Van Amersfoort Racing as he tested positive for Covid-19.
We saw almost the entire grid go out at the start of the qualifying session, though as we know the best times are placed through the closing stages, with the start generally being more of a “set-up” period.
Sargeant led most of the session with Iwasa behind him. Nightmare rained for Hauger as he suffered from technical issues and had to retire from the session, bringing out the red flag.
Iwasa then took the lead of the session after the restart, with Vesti behind in second place and Doohan third. However, qualifying took a twist at Sargeant stole pole position after setting the fastest time.
The Hitech duo of Vips and Lawson placed 7th and 9th respectively. Daruvala closed the top 10.
