Formula 1 released a statement in response to the reports regarding fan harassment during the Austrian Grand Prix.

Some of the fans that attended the Red Bull Ring this weekend, revealed on social media that they had suffered from harassment at the race track.

F1 condemned such actions in the statement and confirmed that the matter had been discussed with the event promoter.

“We have been made aware of reports that some fans have been subject to completely unacceptable comments by others at the Austrian Grand Prix,” the statement read.

“We take these matters very seriously, have raised them with the promoter and event security, and will be speaking to those who reported the incidents.

“This kind of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
