Hitech GP’s Isack Hadjar has taken the Formula 3 Feature Race pole position in Spielberg.
The starting grids for both Formula 3 races at the Red Bull Ring were determined in Friday’s qualifying.
Championship leader Victor Martins took the early lead in the session. He was followed by Oliver Bearman and Kaylen Frederick. Meanwhile, Nazim Azman went off the track at the exit of turn 4, but did not damage the car.
Zdenek Chovanec stopped at the pit lane entry, triggering yellow flags at the last sector. However, he got going shortly after. The stewards decided to investigate the incident. Arthur Leclerc beat Frederick’s lap time and got to the top 3.
After a break, drivers came back to the race track. Bearman hit Zak O’Sullivan’s car at the pit lane exit. The episode would be investigated after the session.
Isack Hadjar was quicker than Martins and got to the provisional pole. Moments after, the session was red-flagged after Chovanec had stopped at turn 1. The race control decided to restart the session, which meant that Hadjar got the Feature Race pole position. Martins was second, while Bearman completed the top 3.
Caio Collet was 12th in the qualifying and got the Sprint Race pole position.
