Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner believes that Mercedes will be competitive in Britain and France.

Mercedes found themselves in the position of a third power of the F1 grid in 2022. Porpoising affected the performance of the Silver Arrows dramatically and did not allow them to compete with Red Bull and Ferrari on most of the occasions.

However, Horner expects that Mercedes will be competitive at Silverstone and Paul Ricard in July.

“I think Mercedes will be strong at Silverstone and I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be at Paul Ricard,” he commented.

Furthermore, Horner assumes that the British GP will be a difficult weekend for Red Bull.

“I think Ferrari will be quick at Silverstone as well. It could be more of a challenging circuit for us, just due to the nature of its layout.

“It’s incredible that we’ve put a run of six race victories together but Silverstone could well be the most challenging yet.”
