Charles Leclerc believes that he may be in contention for 4th place in the Canadian Grand Prix.

Leclerc was forced to take new power unit components during the race weekend in Montreal and exceeded their limit for this season. Therefore, the Monegasque would start Sunday’s race 19th.

Despite starting from the back of the grid, Leclerc expects to be in a fight for P4.

“I don’t know whether it will work out or not. It was a bit more difficult to overtake than what I initially thought yesterday,” he said.

“But overall, I think we’ve got quite a good pace in the car. If we play it smart in the strategy, having some clean air, we can come back to P4 or something.

“So that is the goal and yeah, I’ll give it everything.”
