Lewis Hamilton admits that the set-up experiments he had in Montreal on Friday were not successful.

Hamilton had a difficult day in Montreal on Friday. The Briton was 8th in FP1 and 13th in FP2.

Hamilton revealed that Mercedes continued to experiment with set-ups and car parts, but they did not improve performance. Furthermore, he called his experience in FP2 “a disaster.”

“We’re trying lots of different things, experimental floor on my side, which didn’t work. Nothing we do with this car generally seems to work,” Hamilton said.

“So we’re trying different set-ups, me and George [Russell] went with much different set-ups in this P2 just to see if one way works and one way doesn’t.

“It’s like the car is getting worse, like it’s getting more and more unhappy the more we do to it. So we keep working on it and it is what it is.”
