George Russell was surprised to get a podium finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as Mercedes continues to struggle.
The Silver Arrows are going through a “torrid” time as described by Russell, as we’ve seen how much they’ve struggled with porpoising in the last few races.
However, despite the issues, Russell was able to achieve a P3 finish at the Baku Street Circuit, something he was visibly surprised and pleased about.
“You have to be there to pick up the pieces,” he said after the race.
“Thanks to the guys at the factory to get the car to the end, the cars are going through a torrid time with the bouncing, so [I’m] pleased to bring it home in P3.”
