Lewis Hamilton admitted he was “praying” for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to end as he suffered back pain through the straights.
The British driver was seen having difficulties getting out of the car due to his pain. Speaking post-race with Sky Sports, he explained what was happening, though also admitted to being content with the race result.
“[I was] biting down on my teeth through the pain,” he said. “Just adrenaline.
“I can’t express the pain you experience on the straight here, at the end I was praying for it to end. We are in such a good position still, third and fourth is a great result for the team.
“They [the team] did a good job with the strategy. Once we fix the bouncing we will be right there in the race. But we are losing over a second with the bouncing.
“I will be at the factory tomorrow, we have to have a good discussion and keep pushing,” he explained.
