Sergio Perez is happy that his future with Red Bull Racing beyond 2022 was secured early in the season.
Perez signed a new two-year contract with Red Bull ahead of the Monaco GP. As a result, the Mexican would stay in the team until at least the end of the 2024 season.
The Mexican explained the importance of reaching an agreement in the early stages of the season.
“I certainly feel like as a driver you want certainty. And you want to get that stress out of the way. So the earlier the better,” Perez said.
“It takes so much energy and so much focus to be 100 percent weekend-by-weekend, so you don’t need that thinking. So it was good that we agreed so early with the contract.”
