Lewis Hamilton is hopeful that Mercedes will be competitive enough to be in race win contention by the British Grand Prix.
Mercedes are going through a difficult period. The Silver Arrows are currently 3rd in the Constructors’ Championship with 134 points scored. Furthermore, their winless streak reached 8 races after the Monaco GP (including the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP). The reason for that is continuous issues with the 2022 car.
Hamilton has revealed that he wants to see Mercedes make a recovery by his home race at Silverstone.
“I’m hoping by Silverstone that we have the car where we need it, at least by then, to be able to fight these guys for the win,” he said.
“That’s what I’m working every day for, so that we can fight on home turf and give them the best race that we can.”
Hamilton is also confident that Mercedes will manage to fix the problems that they are facing.
“I know everyone back at the factory is working as hard as they can to continue to make advances with the car, and I have no doubts that we will.”
