Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto believes that the team will learn from mistakes they have made during the Monaco Grand Prix.
Ferrari locked out the front row for the Monaco GP last weekend. However, mistakes in strategy did not let the Maranello-based outfit convert those starting positions into a 1-2 finish – Carlos Sainz was 2nd, while Charles Leclerc crossed the finish line in 4th position. That allowed Red Bull Racing to increase the advantage in the standings.
Binotto thinks that Ferrari will become stronger after learning from the errors that have cost them a successful result.
“I’m pretty sure that those situations will make us stronger. And we are pretty aware, being competitive is a fact; winning is another task. And it’s another level of difficulty,” he said.
“And I think as a team, we are still progressing, learning and maybe it will take some more time.”
