Charles Leclerc has set the quickest lap time of the final free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix.
The drivers had one more hour to make final preparations for qualifying later in the day.
Smoke was coming from the rear of Pierre Gasly’s car after his installation lap. The Frenchman went to the pits and left the car.
Mick Schumacher also had issues as his right rear brake caught fire. The session was over for the Haas driver and his participation in qualifying got under threat.
Mercedes were hoping that their strong form from Friday would transfer into Saturday. Lewis Hamilton had his first flying lap attempt on Soft tires. Though the car was still porpoising, the effect was not significant. However, the Briton encountered issues with the DRS that were quickly fixed.
Charles Leclerc topped the standings of FP3, having swept all practice sessions in Barcelona. Max Verstappen was second, and George Russell had third-quickest lap time.
