Felipe Drugovich has won Formula 2 Sprint Race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after leading every lap.

Calan Williams was set to start the race from pole position after due to Felipe Drugovich’s grid penalty. However, the Trident driver failed to get out of his grid box at the formation lap and was forced to begin the race from the pit lane.

Drugovich had a good getaway and got to the race lead. Ayumu Iwasa and Logan Sargeant followed him in the top 3. Championship leader Theo Pourchaire did not have the best start as he dropped down to 7th. Roy Nissany had a spin in the sector 3 chicane and found himself in P21 after that.

Sargeant began putting pressure on Iwasa on lap 5. The Carlin driver made an attempt to overtake at turn 1, but it was not successful.

The race ended prematurely for Juri Vips. He was fighting with Jehan Daruvala for P5 and shortly after spun and stuck in the gravel at turn 4. Safety Car was deployed.

The race was restarted on lap 10. Drugovich held off the opponents and remained in front. Halfway through the race, the Brazilian driver was 1.5 seconds ahead of Iwasa.

Pourchaire returned to the top after an overtake on Hughes on lap 21. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver kept losing positions because of tire degradation and went to the pits on the penultimate lap and retired.

Drugovich cruised to the Sprint Race victory. Iwasa and Sargeant got their maiden Formula 2 podiums.
