Max Verstappen admitted having a bad Friday at the Miami Grand Prix after multiple issues throughout the day.
The Red Bull driver touched the wall during Free Practice 2 and, as a result, had a gearbox change for FP2 as a precautionary measure.
Verstappen also faced hydraulic issues and was forced to pit later in the session.
“Just not a good day,” Verstappen said. “And of course these days [it is] extremely painful, especially on a track like this where you want to be out there and learn the track and get up to speed.
“So, I basically did four or five laps today – fast laps – so that’s not what you want.
“I mean, of course, I’ll try to catch up, but it’s just not ideal. Everyone is of course a bit more into the running; but not only that, we have no information on my car with what we have to do, so yes, it’s extremely painful.”
