The Miami GP officials were forced to repair the track surface at turn 17 again after Friday’s free practices.

The track surface at the Miami International Autodrome had to be repaired at turns 7 and 17 on Thursday night. The issues were fixed ahead of the start of the race weekend and the track was eligible for racing.

However, the track surface at turn 17 had to be fixed again on Friday night. Race director Niels Wittich confirmed in his notes on Saturday morning that “the apex and the exit of turn 17 have been resurfaced.”

It was also revealed that the curbs at the pit entry chicane were removed.
