The FIA has revealed that Mercedes did not confirm Lewis Hamilton would comply with the jewelry clampdown at the Miami GP.

The FIA announced recently that the drivers would be prohibited from wearing jewelry while racing and required the teams to include the information about it in the scrutineering papers.

Hamilton stated on Friday that he was against the decision. Later on, the FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer mentioned in the report that Mercedes had not provided confirmation Hamilton would follow the rules.

“The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team has not confirmed for his driver Lewis Hamilton in the submitted self-scrutineering sheet, that he is complying with the requirement to not wear any jewelry, in the form of body piercing or metal neck chains or watches.”
