McLaren CEO Zak Brown states that the team will not agree for a possible takeover by Audi.

The VW Group CEO Herbert Diess confirmed earlier this week that Audi and Porsche would enter F1 in 2026. Audi was linked to a possible purchase of McLaren. Brown admitted that there were talks between the parties, but assured that the team would not be sold.

“Our shareholders are very committed to McLaren. We did have conversations with Audi and we’re not for sale,” the McLaren CEO said.

“We’re very committed to our future. We’re doing really well on the track. The shareholders have made substantial investments to give our team the resources we need to get back to the front.

“Commercially we’re doing really well. Morale in the team is really good. We don’t have any interest in selling the race team.”
