AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda is delighted with his result at last Sunday’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Tsunoda’s race weekend did not start in a good way as was only 16th in qualifying on Friday. However, he managed to make a recovery later on. The Japanese driver finished 12th in the Sprint and crossed the finish line 7th in the Grand Prix. Furthermore, he was higher than his teammate Pierre Gasly in the standings in every session.

Tsunoda spoke about his performance.

“To be honest, I didn’t expect [this result]. I mean, I didn’t try to expect it, because this kind of difficult condition is really hard to predict,” he said.

“I was just focusing to stay on the track first and just trusting my car’s pace, [and] I’m super happy to be able to score points, especially at a home track.”
